Jul 28, 2023 · Cons. Takes up lots of ground space. 1.2 pounds for a spacious two-person tent is pretty good. Use trekking poles for support. Tent stakes and ground cloth not part of the 1.2 pounds. It really is spacious, and the vestibules are also huge. I use 8 stakes. In my use has stood up to over 40 MPH wind without any issues.

As for your questions, the X-Mid 2 has a bit larger footprint than most 2P tents but only because it's a nicely sized/spacious 2P tent whereas a lot of 2P tents are quite small/cramped.
