Gmc sierra radio display not working

All work fine, I paid for a 3 year special offer, but the one chanel my wife and I listen to, isn't there. Called XM, they told me that the radio need to be upgraded, some GM vehicles, in my case 2014 Sierra, doesn't have the capability.

At the same time the audio system is on and appears to be functioning but there is no volume. On one occasion, turning off the truck and restarting solved it.Grab a short piece of bare, single strand wire. Hop in the driver's seat, turn on the ignition and stereo. Listen to a nice song. Then, turn off the ignition. Open the door if you want; the switch is disconnected so the stereo should still be playing.
