May 17, 2015 · The engine has been running this high for 3 years now. There's no mass accounts of overheating penastars in the JK. I think people are trying to find a issue where it does not exist. If it was a aluminum block and iron heads I could see a issue. Since they're the same material they should in theory expand all at the same rates ect. Low on power and running rough after warming up. My 98 TJ with the 2.5l has been acting up lately. It seems to run pretty normal when cold, but a few minutes after reaching normal running temp, it gradually seems to idle rougher and rougher, it's low on power and there's a drop in oil pressure. Today I noticed 2 things. 1) the little rubber seal on my rear dana 35 pumpkin oozes oil when I press it. 2) the rear differential is really hot (can touch it for about 3 sec before pulling away).Yes it does ope at 206 and can to up to 236.
