The Kintner House Inn was built at this site in 1873. It had previously been located a block north of here and that building burned to the ground. Afterward, the KHI was relocated to its current site. Before the fire, the KHI had 34 rooms. The Kintners lived on the first floor and rented out the two top floor rooms.
Cedar Farm is the only surviving antebellum plantation-style complex in Indiana.
